Saarbrücken Airport (SCN) is keeping you updated on the latest developments, as well as new routes and services:
The Spanish holiday island of Mallorca is one of the most popular tourist destinations for German travellers.
Eurowings airline will serve this destination from SCN at least once a day on the 2027 summer flight schedule – with two flights on each of Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. At peak times, this means ten flights a week to Mallorca.
These flights are already available to book via Eurowings, travel agents and standard online portals.
From 31 August onwards, the airline DAT will be adjusting its afternoon service – the Saarbrücken-Berlin-Saarbrücken route – by bringing it forward by an hour. This means that the final aircraft from Berlin will land in Saarbrücken at 8:30 p.m. Frequency of service will remain the same, with eleven flights a week.
This adjustment was made in consultation with SCN as it will particularly benefit business travellers, who make up the majority of the customers flying at this time of day. These travellers have increasingly been asking the airport and airline for earlier arrival times.
This change makes the service more convenient for passengers and increases the attractiveness of the route. A flight is the most time-efficient and often also the only available transport link for short hops or day trips between Berlin and Saarbrücken.
In the future, the airline will be flying from SCN to Berlin in the mornings (Mon-Fri at 6:30 p.m.) and afternoons (Mon-Fri and Sun at 4:40 p.m.). The return leg to Saarbrücken will depart in the mornings (Mon-Fri from 8:50 a.m.) and evenings (Mon-Fri and Sun at 6:50 p.m.).
The airline DAT has concluded an interline agreement with the airlines Finnair and Qatar Airways. This means that travellers to and from Saarbrücken can now take advantage of direct booking and connecting flights to Doha (Qatar Airways) and Helsinki (Finnair), made possible by the existing DAT connection to Berlin.
For travellers departing from Saarbrücken, this means that flights will now be shown with connection options and all-inclusive fares, as well as meaning that bags checked in at SCN will automatically be transferred across in Berlin (important for convenience) and ‘travel with you’ to the final destination.
Saarbrücken passengers will gain improved connections to the international and transcontinental route network, as well as more convenient, higher quality travel.
These connections are already available to book via the SCN website and standard online portals.
