Saarbrücken Airport wants to strengthens its presence in the Greater Region SaarLorLux and will be present again this year at the Tourism Fair `Vakanz` which is being held from January 18-20 at the fair ground of the Luxembourg Kirchberg. The Airport will have a booth of its own (Hall 9, Booth No. A55). `We want to increase even more people´s awareness of Saarbrücken Airport as an essential factor of aviation in the Greater Region and make full use of the existing market potential of flights from Saarbrücken`, said Thomas Schuck, Chief Executive Officer of the Airport `To do so, the tradition-rich `Vakanz` which is a leading trend fair for tourism in the Greater Region, is the right place`, Schuck continued.
Regarding its participation at the `Vakanz`, the Saarland Airport cooperates with Air Berlin, the major provider of flights in Saarbrücken. On Friday, Air Berlin will award prizes to the best Luxembourg tour marketer at its booth. Three companies from each of the sectors `Best Business Travel Agency`and `Best Leisure Travel Agency` will be awarded.
Visitors of the Airport booth can participate at a prize competition and win Air Berlin flights from Saarbrücken to Palma de Mallorca and Berlin respectively.
At this year´s `Vakanz`, roughly 200 exhibitors mainly from Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland will showcase their topical holiday offers. 20,000 visitors are expected, among them many people from Rhineland Palatinate and Saarland.
